Follow the steps below to ensure your monitor is giving you the whole picture.

Step 2: Adjust the contrast up to maximum. That will give you the bright whites required to illuminate an image's highlights.

Step 3: For the proper shadow illumination, adjust the brightness control until the 95% grey square is just barely visible. The 100% square should remain black, and there should be just a hint of tone in the 95% grey.
